Needs a name pretty six-month-old black-footed ferret!

April 15 the birth of the Smithsonian conservation biology saw Institute latest black-footed ferret. Father and mother born in Lido and Jambalaya. But so far none has received a name!

Therefore, because they decide a vote, her name are operation. The four possible names are Meeteetse, Rosebud, Shirley and Cheyenne.

Their holder to say, that she shy, but she seems happy enough away before playing a webcam. She want to give they have birth up to 12 young people themselves, can then be released in the wild.

Our still-unnamed ferrets was angry moat. I'm not sure what they wanted.


Century was the wild black-footed ferret population due to the loss of their main food source, prairie dogs drastically. They were considered extinct, but then in 1981, a small group found were alive and healthy. Since then, many efforts have been made to the population with 1,000 ferrets today as successfully in wild life restore.
