Edinburgh Zoo has recently unveiled a new webcam, featuring two giant pandas. It offers anyone the chance to watch these rare animals, although they can be difficult to spot! It is the first time in 17 years that giant pandas have lived in the UK.
Tian Tian and Yang Guang were a present to the zoo from the Chinese government. They took a long trip from China to Scotland in December. Their zoo keepers have reported that both pandas appear to have settled in well. The webcam has been hidden inside their enclosure so as not to disturb them.
One of the pandas takes a leisurely walk outside. Yang Guang was briefly taken off public display because he suffered from colic, an illness which is common in younger pandas. Thankfully, it is not serious and with medication he will be right as rain after a couple of weeks.
Edinburgh Zoo keepers (and webcam fans!) hope that the two pandas will mate and produce some little baby pandas.
You can check out the two pandas on Edinburgh Zoo’s panda webcam. They recommend that you tune in between 11 am and 3 pm GMT.
