Let the poor bird get some rest!
It is hoped that the webcam will stream some eventful footage over the coming month, because tawny owls normally lay eggs in February or March. The eggs hatch around 33 days later. The owl box shown on webcam has been occupied for two years, and there keepers at the reserve are confident some chicks will arrive this year.
This isn’t the first webcam set up by the Hawk and Owl Trust. Regular Camscape readers will remember the peregrine falcons of Norwich Cathedral. The Trust installed a nesting platform for the peregrine couple last year. Now the webcam has been upgraded and it is hoped that the falcons will produce their first brood in late April.
